New Story Preview
Posted in Comics June 22nd, 2008 by Greg

I haven’t posted in awhile, obviously…keeping meaning to get more reliable on that front. But I’ve been working on a new issue-length story and it’s coming along…slowly, but surely. Since I won’t be done for awhile, here’s a little preview from the middle. It’s yet another awkward date story – kind of a sequel to the stories in Flung #3. Anyway, here you go!

An Exciting Saturday Night!

Come see me at the Olympia Comics Fest!
Posted in News May 31st, 2008 by Greg

I will be tabling at the Olympia Comics Fest on Saturday, June 7th! It looks like it’ll be fun – come by and say HI if you’re in the area! I’ll have minis, books and more at my table. Plus there’s, well, me! It runs from noon – 5 at The Vault, in downtown Olympia – here’s a map, and more info is on the fest site. Hope to see you there!

Later in the summer I’ll be at the Portland Zine Symposium, which is the weekend of August 23/24 at Portland State University. If all goes according to plan I’ll have a new issue of Flung debuting as well, sort of a follow-up to #3 and the Personal Ad dates stories.

See you Saturday!

Comic about the Stumptown Comics Fest
Posted in Comics May 5th, 2008 by Greg

The Stumptown Comics Fest was great! There are tons of pictures at the Stumptown Comics Flickr group, including a few by me. And here’s a story I just wrote about a visitor to my table. Is it kosher to write comics about your customers? I don’t know. Anyway, here it is:

Stumptown!
Posted in News April 23rd, 2008 by Greg

Hi, all! I’ll have a table at the Stumptown Comics Fest this weekend! This is my first time at a show since I got back into comics so I’m really looking forward to the experience and checking out what everybody’s got. I’ll have a bunch of stuff with me, including four new (and cheap) minis – covers below. Come by and say hi if you’re going – I’ll be at table 48!

Here’s a new short comic about something overheard at the grocery store:

It’s odd, the songs that get stuck in your head
Posted in News March 27th, 2008 by Greg

When I woke up this morning this song was in my head. I have no idea why:

I first saw this on one of the TV Carnage DVDs. Which all rule, or own, or something along those lines. Go buy all his stuff!

Also, Google “Jan Terri” to learn where this came from, if you’re curious.

New book collection, and Stumptown!
Posted in News March 23rd, 2008 by Greg

I’ve finished my other collection of past Flung material – Flung #1 – #3 collects the first three Flung issues, along with 30 pages of extra material, in a shiny new package. In Flung #1, marvel and/or cringe as I obsess over whether to ask out a library clerk, meet an online pen pal in the real world, suffer the indignity of ducking into the adult section of a video store, and learn what really goes on in my roommate’s dreams. Flung #2 takes a sordid trip up to Canada with bored cruise ship musicians, and I get hit up for drugs due to my fondness for snack items. Flung #3 is a three-episode epic of personal ad dates gone awry, with a bonus battle between a prize kitty and a squirrel. Plus 30 pages of extra stuff: Read a cut Flung segment, a newly-drawn story, a date story translated into French, and more! 134 pages, 7.44″ x 9.68″, full-color wrap-around cover, B&W interior.

Click here for previews, ordering info, and the list of stuff I currently have available. If you like. Oh, and here’s the full wrap-around cover.

I’m also going to be at the Stumptown Comics Fest this year for the first time. I’ll have a table and will have the new book collections, old Flung issues, and a new for-the-fest mini sampling recent stuff. Say hi if you’re there! And if anyone has pointers for maximizing the experience or wants to carpool from Seattle, let me know! (email “gfling” at this domain).
