Flung #1

I assembled this comicbook mostly from stories I'd been drawing in little notebooks while at work, except for one that I redrew. It has three short pieces and concludes with a longer story about the summer after a major breakup.

Stories are: The Music Thing, The Video Store, The Dream, The Library Girl.

Flung #2

This issue features an almost issue-length story about an eventful and semi-sordid trip to Vancouver, B.C., a 2-pager about a trip to a convenience store, and the first Flung letters column!

Stories are Lookin' and the 23-page epic Love for Sale.

Flung #3 -- (out of print)

The third issue of Flung is centered around stories of personal ad dates. You know, those printed notices that predate internet dating. Pretend it's internet dating if you like. This issue is longer than the previous ones (38 pages) and, as usual, has a short story tacked on (about my cat catching a squirrel), and more letters.

Flung #3 is out of print but is available in my "Flung #1 - #4" book collection.

Stories are Personals Hell (a cautionary tale in three parts) and Cat Trouble.

A Brief History Of My Brief History In Comics

This story is the first thing I drew after starting back up making comics, and was written/drawn in 2007-2008. This was written as the introduction for the "Your Tax Dollars At Work" book (currently unavailable) and in this minicomic version has a couple of extra pages of material.

Four Stories From My Comicbook Diary

"Four Stories From My Comicbook Diary" is just that, four short pieces from a comicbook diary I kept when first writing comics.

Read excerpts: Weezer | Sleep Patterns

The Personal Ad

"The Personal Ad" features a story about my first experience trying to find love via artificial means. This story was the lead story in "Flung #3" and is also featured in my "Flung #1-3" book, above.

Reviews? Sure, Flung got 'em!

Before I wrote the stories in Flung #3 I wrote a prose version of my personal ad mishaps: Welcome to my (original) Personals Hell

This isn't comics, but right after going to a Guided By Voices show I wrote up my experience. This was at a time of rabid fandom, so travel back with me if you will to GBV, 6/17/97, Seattle
